DECEASED ESTATE 4WD LANDCRUISER & 2 CARAVANS

Our corporate marketing includes our services to lawyers, active in the wills and deceased estate management space.

There are 2 main streams of activity:

• Preparing a list of chattels (including vehicles and pleasure craft) usually at the place of residence. Then advising the executor as to our opinion of a fair auction realisation amount for probate purposes. If the will instructs the executor to distribute the chattels to the beneficiaries, our role is over.
• From time to time we are asked to arrange disposal – usually by auction sale. This can best be achieved if the auction can be held onsite. If that’s not the case, we will seek a suitable alternative location. In the latter we can arrange for the packaging and transport to the place of sale.

REGARDING THE CARAVANS AND THE LANDCRUISER.

We were contacted by the lawyers for the executors. They advised that one caravan and the Landcruiser were in Geraldton – the other caravan was just outside the metropolitan area.

Two of our staff to drove to Geraldton, collected those items and then, in convoy, returned to Perth. The Oakford caravan was also collected in the same way.

We obtained quotations to use contractors in each case, but it was decided that it was more cost effective to do it ourselves.

On arrival, an inspection of the assets was done and a written estimate of auction value was prepared as part of our service to the executors.

All items were then included in a suitable auction once the executors were happy with the likely realisation potential.

After suitable exposure at the auction site and wide publicity, the total gross selling prices were very similar to our estimations.
